documenting my art journey! while this isn’t my most consistent hobby, am hoping to use this skill for some multimedia projects, or to add visuals to my writing!!
it’s been really interesting to see how my own art style has evolved over the years — what’s trending, what’s not. what i want to keep, what to change. it feels like a mini scrapbook for myself in a lot of ways! you might not see it, but it’s there, for me.
when i’m not drawing digitally or with acrylic paint (or pixel!), i’m being artistic in my junk journal!!
10/8/24 day 8 of me and anning's personal inktober! drew maki from jjk, and I really wanted to focus on style > accuracy here. trying some new hair rendering options!

9/26/24 - started off hating this one, but once i stopped taking it so seriously, it ended up being a piece im happy with!
9/10/24 - my first try at a DTIYS challenge!! was SO MUCH FUN and got to work on perspective here!
9/17/24 - a speed paint! made me realize that im feeling so much more confident in drawing hands!!
9/10/24 - anning chibi! for one of our weekly creative seshes :D love seeing my style peeking through here!!

9/6/24 - finished the six fanarts!!! think I ended really strong wiht makima here :') the entire project makes me feel really proud!!

9/5/24 - vash!! easy breezy one! like how fluid this one feels + the colors were really fun to work with!

9/5/24 - frieren!!! feeling a lot more confident drawing hands lately :D also am such a fan of how the composition for everything here turned out

9/4/24 - added a gojo as the second character! super proud of the styling choices here with the hands

9/4/24 - starting one of those sixfanarts challenges because I've always wanted to try!! started with mob because I thought it'd be an easy one, but got carried away with adding ??? in the background too :')
8/30/24 - self portrait! was drawing myself a lot in group pictures so I thought I'd try it again for realzies. think I'll do one of these every few years now!!
9/4/24 - going slightly out of order here but just so that the two chosos have a side by side comparison! first time really using a gradient map too which has changed the game for me massively

6/13/24 - choso attempt 1! a lot of fun work with hands + my first time trying out editing the layers themselves as a way to render

6/8/24 - nobara! really proud of how the hands came out here, especially the shading. perspective was a big part of this too! still really unconfident with backgrounds though
6/14/24 - put a lot of new things into practice here for the first time! used different brushes + had a lot of fun with the lashes

6/8/24 - getting back into art! realize that my digital art habits and layering are now super influenced by the acrylic painting work

march 2024 - love the composition of In the Mood for Love's movie poster, so thought I would recreate! This one took super long because of the lettering, but I think the impression is overall strong. This one was definitely a challenge in composition!

march 2024 - first acrylic painting based off a real person! had to paint timothee after dune 2 because his features are so strong. really proud of how this one came out!

march 2024 - this one was a doozy! stayed up until 7am working on this after the mobbu one, and learned a ton about perspective and backgrounds. not super happy with the shading, but we live and we learn!

march 2024 - mobbu!! acrylic painting, learned a lot about how I want to iterate on my process after the first painting. also experimenting with outlining the art!

march 2024 - my first forray into acrylic painting! was super proud of how this turned out, and truly kick started a new hobby for me :D

April 2023 - a KJ to match the Neon! a cute little valorant project :') had to navigate how the cake shape would look since the lines weren't completely straight!

April 2023 - drew this for a friend's birthday!

April 2023 - started my pixel art journey! absolutely loved figuring out ways to simplify forms through pixels -- truly a learning point to find what is most necessary to convey!

2/07/23 - Started Dungeons & Dragons with some friends recently! Drew my character :D Really liked the workflow I took with this one, and I feel like the color palette is pretty cohesive

8/12/22 - drew a profile picture for my friend!! I think here was where I first started feeling really good about basic shading + embellishments!

3/14/22 - part of a mini game I'm working on for a friend! More to come, but first try drawing an animal and I think it came out pretty cleanly!

4/14/21 - Some pose and clothing/shading practice that turned into JJK fanart! Had a lot of fun finding a good workflow for this one, and it's a cleaner version of the thin lined art I've been trying lately

4/13/21 - Used a pinterest reference, but used thinner/less clean lines! I particularly like how the colors on this one came out with the clothing + the wrinkles' shadows

1/19/21 - first doodle of 2021! tried a much looser doodle just as a creative warmup but I like how it came out - still trying to decide how my style should come through!
10/5/20 - trying out a less refined style, left some of the sketching in, but I kind of like the minimalist outline look to it! Good pose practice overall

10/2/20 - At the height of the Among Us hype! 4 months out of practice, but had a ton of fun learning how to manually do the glitch effect in photoshop!
6/25/20 - Tightened up my workflow surrounding line art, so I really like how this clean came out! Used a taehyung picture as reference.
6/22/20 - Suki! This was my first doodle where I started to play around with the Procreate effects to add just a little more depth to my drawings!
6/18/20 - Had an absolute blast drawing this one! Used a drawing reference, and this one really helped me with perspective!

6/17/20 - me and my childhood best friends! this one took me a pretty long time, but its definitely an improvement from before quarantine!

3/25/20 - drew the master sword and then just went full on Zelda here, but I had a lot of fun with this one.

3/24/20 - kirby_bonk.gif was requested by a friend, but i was slowly learning how even this pink blob required shading

3/23/20 - 2nd attempt at gif! Mostly just wanted to make more elements move.

3/23/20 - hello world! blink_girl.gif was my first attempt at gif-making! beep boop

At one point, I was going to use this as my site logo! It was nice to use less colors for this piece since I usually go all out with bright designs - as you can see with the following doodles!
